Celery Green Sleeves: This easy green stemmed variety is crunchy, full of flavour and easy to grow. Celery is high in fibre, calcium, folate and vitamin K and rich in plant compounds with anti-inflammatory properties. Celery is great for soups, stews, risottos and salads.

Sow & Grow: Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep indoors in a cell tray or small pots of compost. Water well and keep moist in a cool spot with an ideal temperature of 15-20 °C. Seedlings will appear after around 14-21 days. Transplant to larger pots, 5 cm apart when plants are large enough to handle. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions and avoid frost. Plant out 25 cm apart, allowing 30 cm between rows.

Flowers/Harvest: August - November

TIPS

• When transplanting to larger pots always handle the leaf not the stem
• Plant out May-June in to rich, well dug soil
• Remove any side shoots at the base of the plant
• Grow on in cooler but not cold conditions
• Keep well watered in dry spells
